With the help of Casemiro’s decisive goal, Brazil defeated Switzerland 1-0 and confirmed their place in the last 16 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Casemiro scored a pass from Rodrigo towards the end of the game for Brazil in this Group G match at Stadium 974.
Before that, Vinicius Junior scored a goal in the 64th minute through Casemiro’s pass, but the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) did not recognize it as offside. After defeating Serbia 2-0 in the first match, Brazil entered the knockout stage from Group G after two consecutive wins. With one game left to play in the group, Brazil became the second team to reach the knockout stage. Earlier, former champions France reached the knockout stage after winning two matches in a row in Group D.

Brazil will now play its last group game against Cameroon. In Monday’s match, Cameroon and Serbia tied 3-3 and shared the points. While Switzerland defeated Cameroon in the first match, they have to wait for the last match of the group to reach the last 16. Switzerland will play the last match of the group against Serbia.
