He scored seven goals and assisted three goals while playing seven games in the tournament. Earlier, Messi was honored with this award in the 2014 World Cup. Messi is the first player to win this award twice since 1982.
On the other hand, Kylian Mbappe, the top scorer in the tournament, won the Golden Boot. He had eight goals and two assists in seven games. 23-year-old Mbappe tied the game with a hat-trick in the final, but his team lost in the penalty shootout. Similarly, Argentina’s Enzo Fernandez has been selected as the emerging player of the tournament. He scored against Mexico in the group stage. England has won the FIFA Fair Play Award.
