The 23rd edition of the FIFA World Cup will be held in America, Mexico, and Canada. This is the first time that the three countries are going to jointly host the World Cup. The next World Cup will be held three years and six months later, i.e. in 2026. Through this World Cup, the number of participating teams will increase from 32 to 48. The start date of the competition has not been fixed. But it is said that the World Cup will return to the regular schedule in June and July. This is the first time that the World Cup is held in November or December. FIFA changed the time to avoid the heat in Qatar.

Mexico previously hosted the World Cup in 1970 and 1986. In 2026, Mexico will become the first country to host and co-host three World Cups. Similarly, the 1994 World Cup was held in America. Canada is hosting the world’s biggest football tournament for the first time. A maximum of 60 games will be played in America. Ten/ten games are scheduled to be played in Mexico and Canada.
